They use <strong>artificial neurons<\/strong> organised into interconnected nodes capable of processing <strong>input data<\/strong> (audio, text, images, etc.) and producing <strong>outputs<\/strong>. Each interconnection makes it possible to identify <strong>recurring patterns<\/strong>, make predictions, and classify information.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b27813c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b27813c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Who invented neural networks?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-971d0b3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"971d0b3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The concept of neural networks emerged in the <strong>1940s<\/strong>\u2014less than a century ago\u2014and originates from the work of American researchers <strong>Warren McCulloch<\/strong> and <strong>Walter Pitts<\/strong>, who first proposed mathematical predictive models inspired by the neurons of the human brain.<\/p><p>However, the real breakthrough came only in <strong>1986<\/strong> with the development of the <strong>backpropagation<\/strong> algorithm (literally \u201c<strong>error backpropagation<\/strong>\u201d), formalised by researchers <strong>David Rumelhart<\/strong>, <strong>Geoffrey Hinton<\/strong>, and <strong>Ronald Williams<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The key feature of the backpropagation algorithm is that it enables increasingly efficient predictive models to be trained by calculating how much each error parameter influences the result. As a result, <a href=\"https:\/\/pmf-research.eu\/en\/machine-learning-smarter-future\/\"><strong>machine learning<\/strong><\/a> takes a major step forward: the machine begins to correct
